Storytelling is one of the most powerful ways to present a memorable message to an audience. Stories make an emotional impact on listeners. And that impact translates into stories that are remembered and retold over and over again. That’s why we encourage storytelling in business presentations.

Once you’ve decided on the main message and main character, you’re ready to build the story with our Business Storytelling Roadmap. The five steps of the roadmap are situation, catalyst, turning point, transformation and resolution. These steps take your audience for a memorable ride similar to a rollercoaster. The story builds up to the peak of the action at the turning point and leads them into a comfortable conclusion at the end.

Now that you have reviewed all of the steps of our business storytelling roadmap across all three parts of this course series, you'll now be able to review an example story as it progresses through each step of the roadmap. You'll also have the opportunity to put this roadmap into action.

In the battle between words and pictures, pictures always win. For decades, researchers have found that visual images are easier for the brain to interpret and remember. Vision trumps all other senses, especially during a presentation. How you present visual aids makes a big difference in your effectiveness as a speaker. This is your chance to get some more practice and hone your presentation skills.

This course reviews the physical delivery skills associated with presenting visual aids. Too often, presenters focus all their attention on the content of the slides and miss the important aspects of connecting the audience with the visual message. We'll cover “Clear the News” position as well as the “Tell the Story” position. These positions are named after the actions you take in each spot.

This module serves as a summary for the "Use Visual Aids Effectively" series - providing opportunities for you to demonstrate what you've learned by completing a series of exercises using video examples.
